The red-and-white team, which won 8 of the 9 matches it played in the first half of the season and reached the top of the standings with 24 points, has set its biggest goal as promotion to the Regional Amateur League. Founded in Denizli in 2018, Değirmenönüspor won the championship in the 2nd Amateur Division in its first season and earned promotion to the 1st Amateur Division. This season, the club has become a formidable opponent in Group C. Having been among the leading teams since the beginning of the season, Değirmenönüspor took the top spot for the first time by defeating league leaders Demiryolgücü 1-0 in a closely contested race. Having won 8 of the 9 matches they played, the red-and-whites finished the first half of the season at the top with 24 points and set their sights on promotion to the Regional Amateur League.

‘WE HAVE A CORPORATE STRUCTURE’

Experienced club president Ahmet Soyel stated that their goals are first the Super Amateur League and then the Regional Amateur League (BAL), saying, “We have more than 100 registered football players. We participate in all disciplines at the youth academy level. We want to build the club on solid foundations and secure its future. We have established an institutional structure with a 12-member board of directors. We have our own club building and a vehicle belonging to the club. We operate with a professional approach. Our vision is to lead individuals who have made sports a way of life toward achieving their sporting goals and to become Denizli’s leading sports club by providing our athletes with suitable facilities, equipment and technical staff. Our mission is to raise individuals who are educated through scientific methods, modern, productive, questioning and capable of realizing their potential.”

‘FAIR PLAY IS OUR PRIORITY’

Değirmenönüspor President Ahmet Soyel, emphasizing that they attach great importance to competing within the framework of Fair Play, said, “There have been incidents that we did not approve of. From now on, everyone—including players, the technical staff and management—will respect the opponent, and Fair Play will be our priority. Those involved in such incidents have no place at the club. We will not make concessions to anyone. A disciplined and respectful fight is just as important as success.” The red-and-white team, which signed striker Hamza Gezgin from Karakovaspor during the mid-season transfer window, aims to strengthen the squad with 4–5 additional transfers.
